What is Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest is a beloved day in West Acton Village. WAVMA members and visiting vendors set up tents at Gardner Field for a day filled with shopping, family-friendly activities, food, and a beer garden! This is the most well-known WAVMA event and the turnout is impressive.

  • June - Sep 10: Apply to be a visiting vendor.

    Sep 10: Visiting vendor application & payment due by September 10.

    June - Sep 27: Share information about Oktoberfest with customers in person and online.

    Sep 27: Oktoberfest from 10 AM - 3 PM.

    • Vendors may apply for a 10x10 space.

    • Vendors are responsible for bringing their own tent.

    • Once accepted, your fee is non-refundable, even in the event of rain, since a rain date is scheduled.

    • Event setup is from 8:30 AM - 9:45 AM.
      You will receive detail information closer to the event date.

    • Setup must be maintained for the entire duration of the event which will end at 3:00PM.

    • Stall sharing is sometimes permitted and is considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for more information.

    • There is no electricity or running water available.

    • There are a limited number of spaces where generators will be allowed. Fees may apply.

    • Participants must clean up their own area at the end of the fair.

    • All work must be suitable for family audiences.

    • Products will be displayed at the vendor’s own risk. WAVMA is not responsible for damage, loss, or theft.

    • Vendors are responsible for providing their own equipment and for ensuring that all structures are secure.

    • Vendors must be in compliance with all permitting and  licensing requirements established by the Town of Acton, State of Massachusetts, and  bodies of the federal government.

    • An Acton Health Department (978-264-9634) permit is required for any packaged or processed goods, including cheese, cider, fish, and meats.

  • Set up will take place from 8:30 AM - 9:45 AM.

    You will receive information about your stall location and move-in time as the event nears.

    • Volunteers will be on-site to help vendors find their location and ensure that cars aren’t lingering too long.

    • Please remember that everybody needs time to unload their cars and move them to off-site parking. Be considerate of everybody’s space and time and listen to the volunteers.

    • Vendors may begin breaking down their stalls at 3:00 pm.

    • Vendors must wait to retrieve their cars until their appointed move-out time.
      Volunteers will be on-site to guide vendors during breakdown.

    • Vendors are responsible for leaving their space clean and trash-free.
