Holiday Stroll Event Details for WAVMA Members

Event Date: Saturday, December 5, 2026 (first Saturday of December, annually)
Event Time: 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM, followed by Tree Lighting at 4:30 PM at West Acton Baptist Church (corner of Mass Ave & Central Street). Raffle Basket winners will be drawn at 4:00.

To Participate, Please respond to the Holiday Stroll Survey by October 31, 2026.

If you don’t respond to the survey by the deadline, your participation will not be noted on the map. You can still take part even if you miss the deadline. And, all members will be noted on the event map regardless of participation in the Holiday Stroll.

What is the Holiday Stroll?

The Holiday Stroll is an event designed to draw locals to West Acton Village for festive day exploring local businesses. Family-friendly activities and special offers at the surrounding businesses encourage people to shop small for the holidays! Families look forward to this even year after year.

Non-retail / service-based businesses often participate by offering small events or activities to draw people to their business. Community involvement will increases their presence in town and their name recognition.

All WAVMA members are encouraged to donate a gift basket for the very popular raffle that is help at the West Acton Baptist Church each year. Not only is it a simple way to market your business, but also the money earned is donated to local families in need.

  • Oct 31: Please respond to the Holiday Stroll Survey by October 31, 2024 (survey link will be available closer to event date). All current members will be noted on the event map. Participating members will be annotated to indicate special offers, activities, or events.

    Nov 1 - Dec 7: Share information about the Holiday Stroll with customers in person and online.

    Dec 6: Holiday Stroll from 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM, followed by the concluding with Tree Lighting at 4:30 PM. Raffle baskets winners will be drawn at 4:00 PM.

  • Get involved in the community and participate in one or more of these beloved Stroll activities. To participate, you must fill out the Holiday Stroll Survey by October 31, 2024 (link will be available closer to event date).

    • Wreath Decorating: WAVMA will provide a wreath for each business that wants to participate. The wreaths add to the festive spirit and you get to let your creativity shine!

    • The Village Hunt: Participating businesses will stamp attendee maps/cards to prove they’ve visited businesses throughout the village. Attendees with 5+ stamps can use their card to enter a drawing to win $50. There will be 3 winners. Cards must be turned in at West Acton Baptist Church by 4:00 PM. This information will also be printed on the event map/card.

    • Raffle: Gift baskets will be raffled off and the the money raised from ticket sales will be donated to The Acton Food Pantry. The raffle takes place at West Acton Baptist Church. Raffle tickets are 1 for $2, 12 for $10, and 25 for $20. Winners will be drawn at 4:00 PM.

      • Individual Gift Basket: Each member is invited to donate a gift basket for the raffle. The suggested retail value is $50 - $200 per basket.
        Baskets can be dropped off at Great Spaces (245 Arlington) from December 2 - 5 2025.
        Please include an itemized list of enclosed items with total dollar value with your basket.

      • Group Gift Basket: Each member is asked to donate an item or gift card for the group gift basket that will be raffled off with all of the other gift baskets. The suggested retail value is $10 - $25.
        Items/gift cards can be dropped off at Great Spaces (245 Arlington) from December 2 - 5 2025.

    • Tree Lighting: 4:30 PM at West Acton Baptist Church (corner of Mass Ave & Central St).

  • We suggest businesses promote fun activities, special offers/freebies, or host a larger event. These will be noted on the Holiday Stroll event map to encourage visitors to make their way through the village to each of the actively participating businesses. To participate, you must fill out the Holiday Stroll Survey by October 31, 2025.

    • Special Offer: This could be a discount on specific items or store-wide during the Holiday Stroll, a coupon for future use, or a BOGO-style offer.

    • Activity: This could include anything from face painting to free samples.

    • Event: Examples may include hiring a petting zoo or having a performance at a designated time.

  • Activities will be added to this space as they are confirmed.
